Fit first. Store correctly.

A few checks help you choose the right organizer and use it as intended.

1. Match your plug or hook

Seven-way plug housings, four-way flat plug bodies and chain hooks vary in shape and size. Read the individual Etsy listing and compare the fit information with your equipment. Do not assume universal fit.

If you are unsure, send a clear photo plus the width, thickness and length of the plug body—or the relevant hook dimensions—to builtfromneed@gmail.com or through Etsy. Include the intended mounting location.

2. Choose the mounting side

For four-pin holders, the variant name describes the side of the trailer where the holder mounts—not the direction of its opening.

LEFT: Mounts on the left side of the trailer. The plug opening is on the right.

RIGHT: Mounts on the right side of the trailer. The plug opening is on the left.

Compare that description with your planned location and the listing photos before ordering.

3. Keep drainage and cable clearance open

Follow the product-specific mounting guidance. Keep drain paths unobstructed and leave room around the stored plug for air circulation. Check that the cable can rest without sharp bends, pinching or pulling on the plug.

Plug storage organizers are not sealed or waterproof electrical enclosures. Do not use them as protection for a live electrical connection.

4. Parked-trailer storage only

Safety-chain keepers are storage organizers only. They are NOT load-bearing, towing-rated or a connection for safety chains.

Before towing, remove hooks from the keepers and connect your safety chains and electrical plug according to the trailer and tow-vehicle instructions. Inspect the organizer and mounting regularly; stop using a damaged or loose part.

What comes with my order?

The individual Etsy offer controls the included pieces, keeper size, mounting side, finish and any hardware information. Photos on this website may show a different example finish. Check the offer before buying.
